This project, ImageNet: Woman, investigates the bias I found in the taxonomy of ImageNets database, before I even started looking at the images used to train machine learning. The website contains a short poem and then cycles through all of the sub-categories in place under the larger category of woman. The results are disturbing and speak for themselves. This is a very large dataset that is in use constantly to build our visual world.
